Ten years after three colleagues met for dinner and sketched out a business plan on a napkin, we are celebrating our tenth anniversary as an international planning, design, and engineering firm. Now a multi-disciplinary team of 32 with offices in Florida, Michigan, and Wisconsin, including internationally recognized and award-winning professionals, we are moving into our second decade with nearly 30 awards and an earned reputation as marina and waterfront experts.

Greg and Kathy Weykamp & Ron Schults  form Edgewater Resources, LLC.

Realtor Jason Keller is brought on board to add real estate insight for the group. ER begins with a team of four offering engineering, planning, landscape architecture and real estate services. Together, the team brings over 60 years of experience and a vast national and international portfolio of work bringing a powerhouse resume to SW michigan. The group of avid boaters, with expertise and passion for the water, specialize in the design and engineering of projects along waterfronts.

ER's first project, Concord Equestrian Center in St. Joseph, MI, is won.

24 projects keep the small, but resourceful ER team busy. Jobs expand to the east coast and include award-winning Port of Rochester, a project that would breathe new life into the waterfront and serve as a catalyst for the revitalization of the area.

Design and engineering for Brooklyn Bridge Park Marina and a feasibility study for a Pittsburgh commercial port site with access to the Ohio River navigation system gets underway for Archer Daniels Midland Company.

Close to home, the team works to create a master plan for parks and recreation for the lakeside city of Holland.

ER works on 16 projects, and winning work for MDNR at East Tawas and the City of Michigan City, Indiana, who ER continues to work with eight years later, working on nearly a dozen additional projects.

The Inn at Harbor Shores Hotel and Marina project is launched, and as a result, Michelle Rumsa, architect is brought on board and ERs services expand to include in-house architecture

53 projects strong, work in Florida and the Caribbean begins ramping up. ER wins work on the Puerto Rico Ports Authority and Las Olas and Sundance Marinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Consistent work in Florida and the Caribbean creates the need for a local team. ER opens its Florida office and expands services. The team navigates clients through Florida’s extensive permitting process put in place to protect the states’ vast natural habitats and wildlife.

Work begins on development projects in Anguilla and Mexico.

Back in the Midwest, the team works on Chicago’s Navy Pier and Detroit’s Belle Isle.

ER experiences a 60% YOY spike in project load with over 81 projects.

Mike Meyers joins the team as Director of Landscape Architect, bringing an extensive portfolio of upscale Caribbean resort work, a compliment to ER Principals Greg and Kathy Weykamp’s urban and community waterfront design and planning. ER works on projects from coast to coast including Port of San Diego and Samson State Park in Romulus, New York.

With 99 projects under ER's belt, rising water in the Great Lakes creates a critical situation for public and private property along the lakes.

Jack Cox, world renowned coastal engineer, author, lecturer and professor at University of Wisconsin, is brought on board to head up Coastal Engineering and the many shoreline projects around the Midwest. The firm’s third office, located in Madison, WI, is opened, and ER is exclusively selected by the Michigan DNR to assess every state-owned pier and marina in the state.
